 I shined up this old rotary telephone from the attic and asked it to pose for me today. Even the sound it made when I dialed took me back to what seems like not so long ago. Kind of a soothing, whirring and clicking sound. Our number back in  my youth was RE8-5120. The RE stood for Redfield. Each town had a different name for a prefix but unless you were calling long distance you only needed to dial the last 5 digits. And there were 'party lines' too but that's another story.
