ATTITUDE

6"x 8" acrylic on gessoboardSOLD
Some people hate crows but I like 'em. They're smart and comical. I was reluctant to do one because they are black and I don't even use black. In fact I don't even have any. I mix blues and reds to get the shadows. black is so dead.....not really a color. But there are lots of reflective colors on a crow. Really we are painting light reflecting off of the crow so... there it is. Below is how it looks in a frame.(black of course)

DREAM FOR SALE

6" x 8" acrylic on gessoboard
My wife and I walked the docks at the marina in Ilwaco Washington on a bright ,blue day. Good light and color. I saw quite few 'for sale' signs like the one in the window of this nice, old fishing boat. Some of these old working boats had been turned into pleasure craft. Made me want to sail away.

8" x 10" acrylic on gessoboard.........$100 SOLD CLICK TO VIEW LARGER
I used a photo taken by Jim Furnish that inspired me for this one. I took a little artistic license, as always....Below is how it looks in a frame. I'm thinking of offering my daily paintings framed or unframed...not sure I want to go into the framing business ....it's so much like work....so it's just a thought right now.

BIRD ON A WIRE
![]() |
6"x6" acrylic on gessoboard.............$100SOLD
While I was enjoying the summer sun in our yard a couple days ago ...a Goldfinch stopped and sang its little song. Next best thing to having a canary in a cage. Just after I finished this painting I realized there is a technical flaw in the wire. Sort of like an M.C.Escher rendering...it looks right at first glance but on closer inspection you see it is a physical impossibility.

MECHANIC'S STILL LIFE
6"x6" acrylic on masonite panel..........$100
Not sure they even make these oil cans anymore. I thought it had a certain beauty to it once I wiped off the years of grime. But then I like to monkey around with tools and fix-it projects. And I like the way light moves through the yellow plastic handel on the old screwdriver.

Hen House
6"x6" acrylic on wood panel
SOLD
This is the same hen as below in a different pose. I like the warm tones here.
My old Grandmother was a collector of all things chickenish (is that a word?)
She had chicken pictures, chicken plates ,chicken cups, little ceramic chickens, chickens on her apron....in fact... she sorta looked like a hen with glasses...same little beak of a nose...round body ...skinny legs... in a good way though. Sorry Gramma!

Sliced Oranges
Acrylic on linen.30x22. It may appear, after the last couple of sunsets, that I had a lot of blue and orange paint to use up. Not really...I just like the contrasting colors. This is one done just with a knife. Lots of texture.

Good Company
Some use shovels..some use a clam gun. Some carry the lantern while some just do the digging. There's nothing like trying to spot a hole the size of a dime by lamp light.

seals on the beach
For some reason there have been quite a few seals and sealions beached lately in front of our house. The bald eagles got one and the gulls got another just this morning. Reminded me that I did this digital image on the computer for a book a while back. It's titled Seal Pup.

Dawn Patrol
more clammers. I don't ususally pay much attention to these scenes when I'm digging..too focused on looking for clam holes. But it is beautiful down there just before the sun comes up isn't it?

After Sunset
SOLD
I've been trying to get going on a series of clam diggers. So often photos of diggers are either at night (too dark) or during one of our overcast days when everything is monochromatic (gray). I'm lookin' for color. So even though this borders on a sunset with silhouettes I did it for color.
Acrylic on linen 14x20 SOLD
