LEMON SKETCH

6" x 6" acrylic on gessoboard
 CLICK TO BID
This was a quick sketch  though it started out to be more detailed. I worked on it quite a while but was getting nowhere so I started to wipe it off in frustration and then.... the pleasure of moving around the paint grabbed me. While I was playing with it.... poof! a nice lemon sketch appeared.
looks good in this colored frame below.

DREAM FOR SALE

6" x 8" acrylic on gessoboard

CLICK TO BID

My wife and I walked the docks at the marina in Ilwaco Washington on a bright ,blue day. Good light and color. I saw quite few 'for sale' signs like the one in the window of this nice, old fishing boat.  Some of these old working boats had been turned into pleasure craft. Made me want to sail away.

MECHANIC'S STILL LIFE

6"x6" acrylic on masonite panel..........$100

Not sure they even make these oil cans anymore. I thought it had a certain beauty to it once I wiped off the years of grime.  But then I like to monkey around with tools and fix-it projects. And I like the way light moves through the yellow plastic handel on the old screwdriver.

Brass Fish With Veggies

$100 SOLD
6x6" acrylic on masonite

I polished up this old brass fish plate and dropped a few veggies in. I didn't want to spend too much time on the detailed carvings in the plate and I think this is close enough. Of course you  haven't seen the plate so you don't know how detailed it is anyway .. I like the way the veggies came out. Real casual.

Bowl Of Plums

6x6" acrylic on panel....$100 SOLD

I didn't paint today..instead I went for a long walk to one of my favorite fishing holes. I was hoping to catch some catfish to paint but...oh well.  Just in case anyone is watching this blog I guess I better post a new painting anyway. I did this about 4 days ago. Love those shiny plums.

TEA TIME sold

Acrylic on Masonite 6"x8"

This looks a little traditional for me with the white table cloth and nice cup. I liked the colors and wanted to try to get the reflective quality.

Sliced Oranges

Acrylic on linen.30x22. It may appear, after the last couple of sunsets, that I had a lot of blue and orange paint to use up. Not really...I just like the contrasting colors. This is one done just with a knife. Lots of texture.

SINGLE PEAR

I had panned to take this a little more toward realism but I kinda like it just like this.
