I painted a Kinglet a while back. Cute little guy... but it was sorta drab. Last week I saw a male and female together and was surprised to see the red crown on the male. When I looked it up, I saw they are called Ruby Crowned Kinglets.....Duhhh. Here's the male
Very nice, Brian. If you don't mind me asking, do you take pictures of them and then paint from the photo?

ReplyDeleteYes I paint from a photo. These little guys are too busy to pose. But also, I work best in the studio where the light is constant. Another big secret of mine (don't tell anyone)is I load the photo into the computer and paint from the screen. much more real than a printed photo on paper.
